Tyler Cameron’s Numéro Netherlands feature is a platform for him to share more about the inception of his new series, Going Home with Tyler Cameron. He recounts, “I’ve always wanted to get back into construction. My father worked in construction, so I grew up in that type of environment and fell in love with it.”
The series is a heartfelt homage to Cameron’s roots and a tribute to his late mother. Cameron shares the motive behind the series: “We had this idea of starting a construction company and showcasing my passion and my favorite place in the world with all of my friends.”
The show is deeply moving as Cameron renovates his late mom’s house, a heart-wrenching and labor-intensive endeavor. “It was very challenging, both emotionally and physically,” he confesses. “There is so much history and memories in that home, so it was definitely tough and bittersweet throughout the demo process.”
The sentimental narrative reaches its peak when Tyler Cameron reflects on his dreams for his mother, demonstrating the profound connection that continues to influence his life’s work.
Cameron expresses, “It was always a dream of mine to hand my mom the keys to her finished home, so with her not being here, it was really hard not being able to do that. But I am so proud of what we were able to accomplish and I know she would be too.”
